Please provide a brief snapshot of your career at CBS Outdoor.
I joined CBS Outdoor International in 2007 to spearhead marketing communications and branding across our eleven markets which when I started all had a different positioning. We now have a unified vision and strategy upon which we are building on an international and local level from marketing and operational vantage points.
I have 20 years of international marketing experience in both Europe and Asia including three years in Singapore as regional Managing Director, Asia Pacific for DraftWorldwide (Interpublic Group). My advertising agency background also includes management roles at Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey and OgilvyOne focusing on clients such as: P&G, Toyota, Telewest and Visa.
Probably not a highlight but quite amusing on reflection. I am a US national and moved to the UK in 1995. One week after starting as business development director at OgilvyOne, I was deported while en route back to London from Montreal. Fortunately, Ogilvy sorted out my papers and my experience in the UK significantly improved from then on!
What do you enjoy doing on the move?
I enjoy travelling and have visited 60 countries so far. My goal is to get to 100.
What are you most proud of?
I began my career in advertising in 1983 as an art director. Eight years later, I decided to make a career change and traded in my markers for a calculator. I tested the cliché that you’re never too old to learn and went on to get my MBA. I’ve lived in 5 countries and almost speak 3 languages but none of it would matter without my husband and young son.
