Aircoach, which operates a luxury 24-hour coach service carrying passengers to and from Dublin Airport, has awarded its first ever advertising contract to Viacom Outdoor Ireland with immediate effect.
The competitive pitch saw Viacom Outdoor Ireland beat Titan/Bus Media in the final stage to secure the contract. Aircoach’s dedicated routes between the city centre and Dublin Airport cover the capital’s key upscale retail areas as well as all the principal hotels and the busiest traffic routes. This offers brands a highly attractive advertising opportunity, with access to three distinct audience groups: motorists & pedestrians; Irish travellers, and tourists coming into Ireland.
Tom Goddard, Chief Executive of Viacom Outdoor International, commented: “The Aircoach contract is an important addition to our media assets and we’re delighted to have been awarded the advertising rights. This is a fantastic advertising environment for brands wishing to reach consumers on the move. These are some the highest profile and most-trafficked routes in the country”.
Major brands such as Vodafone and NiQuitin have been quick to sign up, as well as local organisations including Stillorgan Park Hotel. With Ireland playing host to the Ryder Cup this year, the opportunities for advertisers are even more compelling.
Serving 150 destinations, Dublin Airport is Ireland’s largest airport with 17 million passengers using the airport in 2004 and another 7 million people coming to meet and greet travellers. Passenger numbers are growing by 7% year-on-year and are expected to reach 20 million by 2008.
